Care Navigation

All of our reception team have been trained on how to navigate patients to get the correct care.

They have worked with the GPs to create a template to navigate any problems to the correct person to deal with it, to ensure patients get the right care with the right person at the right time.

They are only asking questions to make sure your problem is dealt with in the best way.

As well as appointments at the surgery, there are a number of other local services that you may be sent to, with more information available below.

Benefits & Employment Advisor

Kingsway Medical Centre host a weekly session for Mr Martin Harvey offering advice on Benefits and Employment.

For more information, please contact the surgery.

Crisis Team

In a mental health emergency, call us: 0800 0516 171

We are here to talk.

The line is open 24/7 for people living in County Durham, Darlington, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York.

First Contact Practitioner

For injuries relating to bones and muscles, it may be appropriate to be seen by First Contact Practitioner (sometimes called Physio) rather than a GP.

They are able to offer longer appointments with someone who specialises in these kind of injuries.

Harbour Counselling

We are currently hosting Harbour, the domestic abuse charity, in the practice.

Kingsway Medical Centre are committed to supporting families affected by domestic abuse.

Harbour are in the practice weekly to speak to patients face to face.

Ask your GP or nurse on how to access the service.

Online Consultation

For some conditions you may be asked to fill in an Online Consultation rather than book an appointment.

This is so that we can have a more detailed request which your GP can read in order to treat you appropriately.

An Online Consultation can be completed using the secure form available through the Submit an Online Consultation button on our home page or below.

Your answers are secure and are added to your medical record when they are submitted

Pharmacy

For some conditions you may be referred to a local pharmacy.

Pharmacies are able to deal with a wide range of problems that do not need an appointment with a GP and can often be seen the same day.

They will be sent your information and any action they take will be recorded into your record as if you had seen someone within the practice.

Remote Booking

For some appointments, including those outside of our normal opening hours, you may be remotely booked into another local service.

All of the GP Practices within Billingham work together to provide some specialised services, including Phlebotomy (Blood Tests), Ear Irrigation, Wound Dressings, NHS Health Checks, and many more.

Sexual Health

We provide free and confidential sexual health services in Teesside including information and advice on all types of contraception and STI testing and treatment.

Our service is confidential, non-judgmental and for people of all ages, genders and orientations.
